Let us we first understand what is a Workflow, a workflow is the definition and execution of business processes where tasks and information are passed from one participant to another for action, according to a set of procedural rules.
The organizations use workflows to coordinate tasks between people so that organization’s efficiency, responsiveness and profitability can be improved.
The workflow feature is used by the admin to assign the flow of the following types of request:
- Restricted Holiday
- Compensatory Off Request
Suppose the admin (HR Department) wants to define the workflow for leave, that is if an employee raises a request for leave then on how many levels the escalation matrix should be defined.
It can be configured by the admin in the workflow feature that can be navigated to Organization>Workflow.
Click on “+Add Workflow” option present at the top right corner and define the Workflow Name, Request Type and the levels of escalation matrix and to whom (Reporting Manager, Reporting Manager of Reporting Manager, and HOD) it should be assigned, whether there has to be any intimation or not, what is the turnaround time (TAT) for the escalation to reach to the next level and the notifying email IDs.
And lastly, its applicability is selected whether it is for a particular employee, department, location etc.
